The cyanotype is one of the first photographic processes, dating back to 1842, invented by Sir John Herschel when he discovered the sensitivity of iron salts. It is a type of handmade photograph created by the reaction of ammonium iron, potassium salt and sunlight. The required solution is applied to a white background (paper fabric) and left to dry. This is done in a room protected from light. When the applied paint comes into contact with the sun (UV rays), it reacts. It turns blue (cyan blue) and all unexposed areas remain white. There are many different possibilities for creativity. It is a work that takes time and patience, where there is space to exchange ideas with others and also to exchange ideas in your own artistic world.
